Hiking The Devil's Throat, Peñuelas

Dare to enjoy one of the most impressive waterfalls between the Jaguas community and the Santo Domingo community of the La Cuesta Sector of the town of Peñuelas. We will explore the unique riverside pools until we reach its impressive waterfall more than 100 feet high. From there you will appreciate an unparalleled panoramic view of the entire natural and healing environment.

• Difficulty level: Qualified route of a regular level (2) and few difficult level areas (3)
• Meeting point:
  Church's chicken from Plaza Peñuelas. We left for the Devil's Throat at 8:00 am punctually, so we recommend arriving early or on time.

Required equipment:

• car in good condition that can climb steep and narrow roads for more than 30 minutes (if not, they must be willing to do carpooling)
• closed footwear/preferably hiking boots
• pants and long shirt (light colors)
• swimsuit
• If you bring your lunch you must bring your reusable utensils (plate, glass, spoon)
• drinking water (2 liters to 1 gallon)
• healthy snacks and lunch
• change of clothes (just in case it rains)
• layer
• sunscreen
• glasses
• camera (preferably shockproof and waterproof)
• hat or cap
• Insect repellent
• If you are allergic to any insect bite, please bring your epipen.

*A safety helmet will be provided if you do not have one.

Event Difficulty:

Level 1: Easy / we recommend it for people of all ages.

Level 2: Regular/includes moderate walking, so we recommend parental discretion and supervision over their children's participation.

Level 3: Difficult / we recommend it only for people accustomed to long, difficult walks on uneven terrain. We do not recommend the participation of children.

Level 4: Extreme / we recommend it only for people in excellent physical condition who can handle the challenges of the nature of the place. Includes long walks under difficult environmental conditions. We check your physical condition, your equipment and your clothing before starting.
