Picking coffee at Hacienda Las Malcriá

Come on a coffee picking adventure at Hacienda Las Malcriá in Adjuntas! In this agro-ecological farm, regenerative tourism is promoted in a unique place in the southern mountains of our islands. Located near one of the lakes in southern Puerto Rico, Lago Garzas. You will learn and participate in the correct way to harvest coffee fruits among other important tasks in caring for the coffee plantation in an environmentally friendly way. We will conclude with a healthy lunch with food from the farm.

Event specifications:

• Difficulty level: 1
• *You will be walking through some slippery spaces.
• *Activity for the whole family. Children and young people between the ages of 14 and 20 who are authorized by their parents and accompanied by an adult
• You should come with a good breakfast.
• You must read and complete the waiver of responsibility document upon arrival at the meeting point.

Required equipment:

• car in good condition that can climb steep and narrow roads for more than 30 minutes.
• bring your mask (optional).
• Closed footwear/preferably hiking or rubber boots.
• Comfortable clothing with a long-sleeved shirt and long pants (light colors)
• hat or cap
• reusable water bottle
• gloves
• healthy snacks
• change of clothes (just in case it rains)
• layer of rain
• sunscreen
• Sunglasses
• camera (preferably shockproof and waterproof)
• hat or cap
• Insect repellent
• If you are allergic to insects or bees, bring your epipen.
• Inform if you are allergic to any food.
• backpack with first aid kit, water and healthy snacks.

Event Difficulty:

Level 1: Easy / we recommend it for people of all ages.

Level 2: Regular/includes difficult hikes, so we recommend parental discretion and supervision over their children's participation.

Level 3: Difficult / we recommend it only for people accustomed to long, difficult walks on uneven terrain. We do not recommend the participation of children.

Level 4: Extreme / we recommend it only for people in excellent physical condition who can handle the challenges of the nature of the place. Includes long walks under difficult environmental conditions. We check your physical condition, your equipment and your clothing before starting.
