Hiking (#hiking) to El Pilón pond and the Church

Dare to enjoy one of the most beautiful forests between Maricao and San Germán as well as its waters, crystalline and sacred waterfalls. We will explore the unique riverside ponds until we reach the impressive Pilón waterfall and the ancestral area of the Church. From there you will appreciate and enjoy a sacred place and the entire natural and healing environment.

Event specifications:

• Difficulty level: qualified course of a regular level (2) and (3) good physical condition is required for this type of event. The activity includes a 3-hour walk.
• *You will be walking through some slippery spaces and over rocks. 
• *Activity for adults and young people between the ages of 12 and 20 who are authorized by their parents and accompanied by an adult.
• The use of masks is required.
• You should come with a good breakfast.
• You must read and complete the waiver of responsibility document upon arrival at the meeting point.
• Meeting point:
  Parking lot of the Mesón sandwiches de San Germán, we leave for Charco El Pilón at 9:00 am punctually, so we recommend arriving before or on time.

Required equipment:

• car in good condition that can climb steep and narrow roads for more than 30 minutes (if not, they must be willing to do carpooling).
• Closed footwear/preferably field boots and/or water shoes.
• pants and long shirt (light colors)
• reusable water bottle.
• If you bring your lunch you must bring your reusable utensils.
• bring your swimsuit.
• drinking water (2 liters to 1 gallon).
• healthy snacks and lunch.
• change of clothes and towel.
• layer to keep dry in case of rain.
• sunscreen.
• glasses.
• camera (preferably shockproof and waterproof).
• hat or cap.
• Insect repellent.

This experience includes:

1. Educational and interpretive experience, tour guided by a trained and certified professional.

Event Difficulty:

Level 1: Easy / we recommend it for people of all ages.

Level 2: Regular/includes moderate walks for more than 1 hour, so we recommend parental discretion and supervision over their children's participation.

Level 3: Difficult / we recommend it only for people accustomed to long, difficult walks on uneven terrain. We do not recommend the participation of children.

Level 4: Extreme / we recommend it only for people in excellent physical condition who can handle the challenges of the nature of the place. Includes long walks under difficult environmental conditions. We check your physical condition, your equipment and your clothing before starting.
